You should always have decoys with you ready to implement when things get dicey. Sometimes, you need more than just diversions to force the enemy to commit to a desired location or reaction. Placing decoys will force enemies to focus in a direction that clears previously closed lanes of progression. While they're distracted by your decoy, you're either slipping away or securing the kill.
