If you are pressuring someone and start shielding, winning may seem impossible since you can get punished big off of one counter. You can escape if you see it coming and counter their counter by pressing the dash macro A+B. Doing so in the neutral will send you forward faster than they can attack you. It still takes timing, but it's better than standing there and taking punishment.
