The spectral hammer has some tactical uses to it. An attack from your spectral hammer will stun certain types of enemies, and this can be used to briefly remove opponents from the fight or leave them open for a combo. You can also retreat away from enemies and charge up the hammer's swing just in time to crack them when they approach you.
