How to chop down a tree
A tree cannot be chopped down with the Flimsy Axe or Stone Axe. First, make sure you have the Flimsy Axe recipe. Then, redeem 3000 Nook Miles for the Pretty Good Tools DIY Recipe from Nook’s Terminal in the tent or at Resident Services. The materials to build the Axe are the Flimsy Axe, 3 wood. Once you’ve built the Axe, hold it and swing at a tree 3 times to chop it down.
