This is the method I use to consistently destroy Piglin strongholds. First, I'll create a wide pathway to the action with cure netherrack. When piglins start approaching, I'll place a line of archer towers, and funneling walls in front. Then, cure more netherrack and repeat this process over and over working your way toward spawners and eventually the portal. This allows you to hold ground.
