The main usage of Kiriko’s Protection Suzu is to provide brief invulnerability for allies from enemy abilities – however the in-game tooltip doesn’t say that it also heals 50 hit points. This can be very useful and used similarly to Ana’s Biotic Grenade ability – if you see your teammates losing health rapidly and they are all nearby, throw a Protection Suzu to quickly heal them all for 50hp.
