At Rank 8, you obtain two permanent stat boosts. If you do this for all jobs, you essentially get a free, easy upgrade for all characters, increasing their overall power. A quick way to rank up jobs is to play the first few floors of Sotenbori Battle Arena once unlocked (Chapter 12). Go to Hello Work, change jobs for every character, go to the Battle Arena, and repeat.
