It's tempting to try and shoot a bankshot from the sides of the court, but you'll want to have a good front-facing angle in order to make a bank shot. The more backboard available, the better. Power wise, if you're playing Normal skill, use extra power past the sweet spot. When shooting near the basket, the arc of the ball is lower so it's easier and you can use more power.
