Leon is given a knife from the start of the game to defend himself. However, if you just keep killing the villagers and don’t upgrade the knife, it will go away. Other household knives that you pick up degrade with time and are not repairable. However, you can upgrade Leon’s knife to increase its damage and kill the villagers swiftly.
