Using the spear
When you level up the spear enough you will unlock the elemental syphon ability, which allows you to hold R2 and absorb the element of an enemy into the spear giving it a temporary buff and if you throw it the spear will explode with the element it has. With this you have access to fire, poison, lighting and so many more.
