In your Inventory you have the option to dismantle items into resources, junk, or scraps that you can resell later to Merchants. The Auto-Dism. Stg. button to the left of the Dismantle button is short for Auto Dismantle Settings. Check "Auto Dismantle item when acquired" and adjust the settings and parameters to automatically dismantle loot you pick up that fit the criteria.
