Always remember, you are not in a Hollywood movie where your character can just run in guns blazing. This is not that type of game. In Chernobylite, you need to sneak when you see enemies. Avoid gunfights as much as possible and only take those fights that cannot be avoided. This will increase your chances very much of surviving and not running out of ammo.
