When starting out, the most effective way to extend your runs through The Underworld is with character upgrades. When entering a chamber, choose Chthonic Keys or Darkness as rewards whenever possible. Keys allow you to unlock new weapons and talents. Darkness is the currency used to upgrade those talents/abilities in the Mirror of Night located in Zagreus' room.
