With the Assess Materia, you can analyze enemies to see what their weaknesses are as well as other useful information. Once an enemy is assessed, there's no need to do it again. When encountering enemies you've already analyzed, press the Touchpad on the PS4/PS5 controller. This will bring up the information you've previously gained. Use the Right-Stick to switch between enemies.
