A set effect is a buff or enhancement that is granted by wearing certain types of armor. In order for a set effect to be active (for example: Sneak +25% for Troll hide armor) you need to craft all four pieces of armor. This includes head, torso, legs, and cape. Once all 4 parts are equipped, you will gain the set effect.
