If it's your goal to reach a high level of mastery and play on higher difficulties, consider starting on Rookie or Experienced. Get a feel for the different weapons and power-ups while learning enemy and boss patterns. With enough repetition, you'll be able to anticipate attacks before they happen and avoid surprise deaths. Play more to improve, and don't give up!
