Halo is notorious for having one of the best melee systems in all first-person shooters. Melees do a ton of damage, but they are also not overpowered to the point where you can run around and elbow everyone to death. However, one of the fastest ways to secure a close-quarter duel is to spray all or most of your bullets into the enemy shield and punch the crap out of them.
