As fun as the franchise is, Halo is infamous by hardcore shooter fans for its more "sluggish" movement. Whether or not that's true, the Run/Slide/Jump tech allows you to maneuver the map quicker and mix up your opponents in duels. Slide while sprinting, then immediately jump out of it to maintain the speed and momentum from your slide. If you've played Apex Legends, it's the same inputs.
