Every map has its own uniqueness. There are some maps where you are so far from the fight that you'll be afraid to cross the open field. On the other hand, there are maps where you'll find close encounters every ten seconds. You'll naturally learn this over time, but you can expedite that learning curve by assess the possible duel types while loading into each map.
