By throwing the Eternal Spear, you can automatically inflict Backstab damage. Rather than wait to retrieve the spear, if you immediately recall it by pressing the Special Attack button, you can quickly get Backstab damage on enemies. Pair this with a maxed out Shadow Presence talent to inflict an extra +50% damage! Make it a habit to throw and catch the spear.
