By easy, I mean easy to grasp and use. Reaper is a character that's incredibly hard to mess up. Get behind them, find an isolated enemy, and spam into their body. Most players freak out when up against a reaper, and his self-healing causes some players to mentally check out mid-fight. He's a great character to start your journey with!
