Battle trainers whenever you see them! Battling trainers gives you more experience than battling wild pokemon. And If you skip too many, you’ll be underpowered and have to retrace your steps back to them. Also, you’ll have to fight every trainer to get the national Pokedex from Rowan back at the lab.
