Your character not only inherits the skills of your Persona, but also its weaknesses. If you take damage to the type of attack its weak to, you can be in a world of hurt and sometimes instantly killed. Also pay attention to the alert above the enemy's head. If it's red that means you're weak to that type of attack. View the Persona menu to see all weaknesses.
