To parry a powerful enemy's attack with Perfect Guard using Link and a 1-handed weapon, hold ZL so that you're in a guarding posture. As the enemy strikes with a powerful attack, while holding ZL press the Y button just as the attack is about to hit you. If successful, a bright glowing ring flashes on the screen and the enemy's Weak-point Gauge is exposed.
