Most Photon Arts and Techniques have a stat called Potency. This stat acts as a damage multiplier to the Attack stat — the higher the Potency, the more damage you can inflict on enemies. Some Photon Arts and Techniques can be charged (held down) to increase Potency. PP Cost remains the same even when charging an Attack, however you can be vulnerable in the heat of battle due to charge timing.
