Markers are very helpful for reminding you of the locations of merchants, skills, teleporters, locked areas, bosses, and other places you've visited. For shops in particular, you can revisit them if you don't have enough runes on your first visit. Go into your Map, move the cursor to the specific area you would like to mark. Press the Set Marker button and choose a related icon.
