Where to go in the water room with an underwater gate

First, swim forward and dive down to unlock the gate. Make sure Trico is in the room. Command him to jump into the water. Climb onto him and command him again to dive. Make sure you're holding onto him and he will dive into the water and through the entrance which leads to another room.
