Where to go when stuck in the White Tower and can't ascend

When you first reach the room in the White Tower with an elevator, you won't be able to ascend. The secret is right below you. There are holes on the platform. Trico ends up sitting down and his tail slowly descends into one of the holes. Grab onto his tail and drop down below the platform.
