It's advantageous to Detach the Force and allow it to attack by itself. Keeping it attached to your ship provides defense but its offensive capabilities are more valuable. You can clear the screen of smaller enemies or fit the Force into small spaces to keep your ship away from danger. Control its movement by pressing the Attach button and Detach again for quick attacks.
