If you hear ringing bells and chimes along with random white footprints running around, you've encountered an invisible Teardrop Scarab. Follow its pattern, you don't necessarily have to run and follow it but keep an eye on where the footsteps lead. When it circles back around to where you can anticipate it, attack and you will destroy it to receive Ashes of War or other treasure.
